Recipe: Antillean Daiquiri

For March 15th’s installment of our Underground Series, we’re celebrating our 4th anniversary with a retrospective of our most-loved cocktails. First on the list: the Antillean Daiquiri from our opening menu.

Based off of a traditional rum, sugar, and lime daiquiri, this recipe also includes a half-ounce of Angostura bitters, an ingredient usually found in cocktails in measures of drops or dashes. Far from overwhelming the balance of other ingredients, the bitters are promoted from the supporting cast to the lead role, and they shine in the spotlight. The flavor is spicy but bright, not too sweet, and not too tart. You’re left with a complex that is complex but supremely drinkable.

Antillean Daiquiri
1 oz Plantation Dark Rum
1/2 oz. Angostura
3/4 oz. lime
3/4 oz. simple syrup

Pour all ingredients into a shaker and shake. Strain into a Nick & Nora Glass.
